Roy Minshew

Roy has been a wood carver for many, many years. This talented artist's subjects range from any kind of dog and wings can be added to create an angel dog. Minshew's wild animal depictions are very realistic with his unique ways of painting them and finishing them off. He also creates wooden keepsake boxes of various animals along with dogs. He also, creates shadow boxes with animals living in their nature habitat.

Here at Around Back at Rocky's Place, Roy has created his largest carving to date by using several different chain saws. She is named "Our Lady of Dawson" as she stands 12 feet tall carved out of a yellow pine, greeting our patrons as they journey to the gallery. Roy has work in the Smithsonian as well as other major museums.
